I think a welcome packet is a great idea! I'm the PTO president at my daughter's school and at the beginning of the year, I send home a volunteer sheet that includes all the upcoming events. Parents can volunteer for any event they choose and I made a table in Word with their info, phone #, and email. What I'd really like to do is have some sort of welcome packet that introduces the families to what we are all about. Our school is Pre-K through 2nd grade so most of the new parents do not really know what we are all about. I think I'll work on a "brochure" to help describe more about us and our purpose. Maybe that's a route you could take too. You could photocopy them and send them home at the beginning of the year and maybe towards the middle too...just as a reminder [img]smile.gif[/img]
