I have served as our Parent Group President for over 3 years now and it has been a great experience for both our school, myself and my kids.
BUT... I'm ready for a change of pace and need to step back from the top level of responsibilty, give my homelife and business more of my attention.
I was appointed and each year the Principal asks me to stay, the volunteers ask me to stay. ( We don't have elections per say, folks who are interested either are appointed or ask for positions - some positions we have an informal vote during a meeting to approve as a group )
The problem is... I announced last May that I was ready to step down and encouraged others to step up, offered to support them if needed.
No one wants to do it!
I'm stuck unless I just let 'nature take it's course' and step down without someone else committed. Some of the top volunteers say they will quit too if I leave!
What to do? All advice is appreciated.
