I am the VP of our parent group. In January of 2005, the State of Missouri passed a law requiring anyone working/volunteering in the public schools to be finger printed and have a background check.(takes at least 6 weeks!) Our President had to pay $58.00 for the finger print and background check for being a substitute teacher. The principal is taking this issue to the other administrators. We can't have our volunteers pay to be volunteers. We believe this is a great idea to keep our children safe, but not so good for our parent volunteers. I just wanted to know does other states have this law?
