Tell me about your Father/Daughter Dance. Do you charge admission? Do you have a DJ? What about food--do you give it away or is there a charge for it? Would love some details. What kind of turnout do you have?
Thanks!
Shelly
I was going to post something like this. I have some ideas for a "Mom's Night Out" but I was totally stumped on what to do with the Dads.
Got any more suggestions? At the elementary we used to do parents vs. staff. Seemed like we had more women out there than men. We only have 1 male teacher there (out of about 60 staff members) so we had to recruit a little. The last time we had it, people were limping out left and right. I would like to do a softball tourney, but we have a lot women softball players too.
We do Dads and Donuts on a regular basis.
For next year we are thinking of doing either a fantasy baseball or football league. (This is my personal favorite
DynastyBaseball
)
A Staff and Students vs. Parents and students softball game (if our asphalt is torn up and the field put in over the summer)
we've found if it involves labor, IT, or sports (our dads are starting to volunteer more often)
I've also seen in various publications/ websites letters directly addresses to fathers/dads/grandfathers are the way to go.

I know alot of you do the Dads with Muffins thing to get dad involved, but do any of you do anything else. I'm thinking of doing something that sports related maybe. We're located near Buffalo, NY so we are sports crazy area. Just not sure what would work and how to pull it off. Any suggestions?
