Thanks for the advice, you are right, the people that are complaining about her taking over should get up and run for the office -but I highly doubt that will happen. We have never had an election where more than one person ran for an office, it was just whoever stepped up and wanted to do it. I did check the bylaws and there is nothing about getting rid of an officer. Oh boy do I plan on talking to her! We have an executive meeting on Wednesday. I have also heard that she had a private meeting with the principal regading the way our PTO is run. Ugh - I am so frustrated.
The answer lies in the vote. Is there someone to run against her? If she is truly terrible then who would vote for her?
If there is no one to run against her then you are screwed & I would tell all those people complaining to put their money where there mouth is and get people to run against her. Everyone loves to complain, but few actully step up to the plate. Her losing the election solves everyones problem and puts an end to her!
Don't walk away now, You have made it through the bulk of the year. The plus side is as you say people see her for what she is and they do not believe the things she is saying.
But I do also think you need to have some type of conversation with her. Ask her why she is saying the things she is? She may deny it but at least she will know that you know what she is doing.
My general rule of life is that people with bad intentions will hang themselves if you stay out of their way and give them enough rope!
I have a problem with my copresident, first of all she does not get along with many people at our school and I was warned before she came on board but I swore I would never turn away a volunteer, I thought if I worked with her I could change that - I have been pres. for 2 years, she came aboard in sept. and I was happy to have help, she does nothing to help me, she will show up at an event late and act like she put the whole thing together - she is frustrating the teachers to the point they do not want to be involved with her, we are losing our family events coordinator because of her - now she is putting her name in the hat to run again ( I am not) parents are saying if she is doing this next year they will not volunteer to help her - she has become very difficult to work with and now is calling parents and telling lies about me and our executive board - most parents know they are not true because they know us - she is bringing in alot of pettiness and backstabbing that we have never had before - I feel like I am in highschool. I do not know how to handle this situation, I love the school, parents, and staff but at this point I feel like walking away so I can watch her fail miserably! Thanks for letting me vent - Any advice?
