We're also thinking of doing a spring membership drive - fees will be reduced to half and the teacher that turns in the most enrollment forms gets a gift certificate from the local teacher's supply store. This gets teachers to encourage parents and remind students to turn in their forms.
I think it depends on the school it self. For example, I'm a new PTA President as of last week. Our school's PTA had no leadership for the first part of the year and we are going to do a membership drive also!
I've got to admit, I have never heard of anyone doing a spring membership drive. The year is almost up. I think other than a new family coming into school, most would have joined (if they wanted too) in the fall.
Spring Membership drive is an attempt to recruit more members during the spring semester. Usually we only enroll members in the fall but we are trying to increase parential involvement.
