I've had our PTA site with myschool for nearly a year now and I love it! I also had a technical problem a while back but when I called the phone # (did have to leave a message instead of getting a live body) they did call me back though.
Turned out to be user error, not their fault!
However, I am the only author. I don't have anyone else working on it so I wouldn't know what would happen in changing from one to the other.
It has been very easy to use.
Another free option is orgsites but they only give you one long page for free.
I just set up our site through my school online.I love it so far.It was real easy to set up and in order for us to have a web site it had to be around that price.I think its a great site, otherwise we wouldn't get this opportunity.
I didn't do ours personally, but the lady who did had it up and running within 1 week. We just used the set up from the school district. It must be easy to update, also. When I email information, it is on the website within an hour! Ours is at lake.k12.fl.us/school-bse/
I've been working on a website for our PTA using myschoolonline.com. Colorado PTA will pay for the subscription for PTA's in good standing. Sounds like a great deal, but I'm finding perhaps I got what I "paid" for. Customer Service, via family education network, is basically non-responsive (via e-mail or their 800 number). There are a few gliches with their application, such as not being able to change user status from page to folder author. Things that would seem to work, do not - and these are basic system administrator functions.
It wasn't until I was well into my 30 day free trial that I realized many of the award winning sites had since moved away from myschoolonline.
Our School District has a web site, and I had no problems using their system except I always had to submit my documents and/or changes and decided I'd like to take on that responsibility myself.
Has anyone else had the same issues with myschoolonline - or found a better way (and a least cost option) to develop your own PTA website?
Thanks!
