Very good job!!!! You must be so excited!!!!
For the volunteer program I designed for our school I send out info and "bios" for the parents to send back. We had them at Back to School Bash and Open House also. My returns were less than desirable. Usually I get 25-30 responses and around 15 ever show up to do anything if that many. I only got back 25, I was hoping for more this year. So I set up my training which covers confidentiality but is more of a get to know each other and our school session for newbies. I had 19 people to show. Seven of them had not filled out their bios and I had more inquiries for those who couldn't make it. I only made 25 handbooks because I was a little pesimistic, so now I have to make more, I am not complaining!
After the training was over cutting for the watermelons began for our annual Watermelon Day. I bet we had 10 volunteers for that, plus about six stayed for the Head Lice training that is done by our FRC. We usually have only 1 or 2 to do that. AND about 7 people committed to days weekly! I was shooting for some people to commit to one day a month. I am soooo excited!
