I'd say you could get more people at the night time meeting from the info you gave. Wow, 930 students with only 3 grades. I am just a country girl, that is hard for me to picture. Perhaps you could rotate meeting times. Have committees that accomadates both day people and night people. It can be done.
As for teachers, we decorate the lounge for them on special occasions, they seem to like that. It small and costless but we are a small school with a great staff, they are very appreciative of our efforts.
We are grades 3rd - 5th. We have 930 students and 38 regular homerooms (all of which are self contained). A lot of the ideas I have gotten from this site are wonderful but so few really apply to a school our size.
I need:
Ideas on how to enlist more volunteers. We usually have approximately 8 people at our (daytime) meetings. The people involved are not wanting to go to nighttime meetings which obviously will cut back on attendance.
Ideas on how to achieve a larger number of parents joining the PTO. Simply stated - at least pay their $5 joining fee.
Fun, different, ideas on little things we can do for our teachers to brighten their school year. We do the biggies, off site C'mas dinner, year end teacher luncheon, etc..
I love the brochure idea and am working on that now. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
