See one question regarding book it has lead to another great website. That is what I love about this website. Everyone gets great stuff for nothing. We all share we all win. thanks for the website information.

If you are looking for a good rewards program for reading try www.bookadventure.org

The kids can read books, take quizzes and earn points towards prizes. It is sponsored by Sylvan learning center.

My kids have used it for a while now and it is a fun incentive.

Our kids elementary schools have done this. I understand the reasoning but personally I don't like pizza hut pizza and the closest one is 15 minutes away. Unlike the regular good pizza places in our town, 5 minutes away. Also, my kids usually read in chunks, like 45 minutes, 2 hours, etc. Not the 15 minutes a day that the teachers always request. Fortunately, my kids love to read (me too!) so they don't need the incentive. So on the whole it's a good program and enjoyed by the majority of parents, teachers and students.

We've done Book-It for the past couple of years and our kids love it. They get excited to read becuase they know the are earning books towards their goal - and as soon as they hit the goal each month - its free pizza - there's no down side!

The school my boys use to go to had the book it program. You can have the teachers set their own reading levels that the children can read books towards. Pizza hut will send out a complete kit explaining the program for every teacher who wants to participate. Go to the website and register your school. I did this and then had the items sent to the school. The librarian looked over the program and then she sent an email to the teachers briefly explaining the program and if the teachers wanted to participate they came and picked up the packet of information. Pizza hut provides the certificates for a free individual pizza for the children. The teachers are given the certificates in the packet and they can give them out when the kids reach the goals. There is no expense for the school or the ptc. Its just another way to get the children reading. What kid doesn't like pizza and its freeeeeeeeeee. Pizza Hut also has a fundraiser program where you can contact your local pizza hut manager and ask them to have a designated night each week or month set aside for your school. All you have to do is let the parents know that if they go into pizza hut on your fund raiser night, the manager will keep track of all sales generated by your organization. Then you will recieve a check for 20% of the total money spent. I am going to have our night the same night as our skate night. So families can go skating and then have a pizza. We then will have two fund raisers in one night, one night a month.

Would any one care to share their info about Pizza Hut's Book It Program? I went to the webstie briefly www.bookitprogram.org, but I didn't have time to sift through it. I asked our principal and she said she knew of it but she would just rather have our AR program as an incentive. I would like to find an individual program like this for my kids, not just a school wide program.
