What age group are the kids dancing??? Are any of the kids dancing children that attend this school?? If the parents of the kids that are dancing haven't a problem with the song then I think it should be know about the words in the song and let the families choose if they want to stand there and watch the dance or not. That way you don't wreck a good thing and next year you can get the dancers back again.

We had an interesting situation at my child's school and I'd be interested in hearing other people's opinion. It has been resolved, and I'll tell you about that in a day or so.
We're having our school festival tomorrow afternoon. We have classroom games, big moonbounce and blow up slides, food vendors and a silent auction in the gym along with entertainment by a local dance academy, karate, etc. A parent came up to me yesterday and said she had just found out that one of the dance groups would be performing to a popular song that has lyrics that talk about getting dirty, taking off clothes, etc. In fact she had the lyrics printed out. Definately a song I would turn off in the car. (oh, I'm the PTA president) The Principal and I agreed that this song was not appropriate for an Elementary school. I called the owner of the dance school and nicely (honest!) told her that we would like her to have them dance to something else. She was highly insulted that we would question her sense of appropriateness and said that she would pull her whole group (about 40 kids in different groups) on the matter of principle. What would you do? Oh, the dancers would be on the stage for 30 minutes total and they have been coming to our school for at least 6 years for this festival.
