I have a pamphlet that I did for our school in the last couple of years. I can email it. It worked great. We put them in a brouchure holder on the PTO bulletin board plus in the office. There is always easy access. They can also be sent home as well.
I agree with First Lady. I've noticed that a lot of parents are dicouraged because they can't phisically be at some functions due to their jobs. I think it is important to let parents know they don't have to be there, they can help by encouraging their children to have good character, help them with homework, engaging in conversations with their children (our pto gives a lot of conversation starters with all the activities we do), and if they have a little bit of spare time they could help make phone calls or something like that.
Another thing I did is put out info concerning the functions and goals of our PTO. I was very suprised at the amount of people who did not know what a pto was. I just typed this out, I didn't have an actual pamphlet.
Perhaps this quote can be incorporated somehow.
"People often say motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's wy we recommend it daily" Zig Ziglar
You could go on to encourage parents DAILY involvement with their childs education. Just a thought.

I hear your enthusiasm and I'm pleased your group is finally getting itself together. I have been banging my head against a wall for 2 years+ tring to get my group to get their act together. I put together. Last fall I put together both a PTO brochure and Parent survey, which still has not been used for many stupid reasons. I can send you a copy of the brochure in a few days, that file is on another computer. I would appreciate your opinion and feedback of this piece, too.
Our PTO is finally getting things done & trying very hard to grow in number after faltering for the past 8 yrs.! We would like to put together a pamphlet for this year's registration. I'm looking for some examples! Help! Thanks in advance for the good ideas! I Love this site!
