Wow, that sounds like quite a few people to have over for dinner. I think the idea is great but perhaps after the board is in place and committee chairs are named. This would at least give you a set number of who would be in attendance. Then you could brain storm and come up with next years goals. I would love to do something like this with just our board members (8). I think that is manageable. How about meeting at a neutral place, community building, apartment club house, etc. order lunch to be delivered and keep the preparation and clean up to a minimum. That way you could focus on your needs & goals! Oh, yeah I forgot I'm a texan and could go on and on. I think out loud. Good luck and Keep the ideas flowing!

I was just told that our PTO has always held a "retreat" at the end of the year. It is usually an evening at someone's house with a nice dinner. I was told they use this time for members to volunteer for next year's commitees, but I don't know any more beyond that. Has anyone held a similar function? If so, how was it organized? Thanks!
