Try high school clubs, boy scouts, girl scouts, need a service hours. See if your teachers will help with the booths. And your other members can attend to the food, drinks. If you can't do that they don't have it. Parents need to realize that they need to step in and volunteer and help. Their children benefit as well. A 30-minute shift at a booth isn't going to take away from their whole evening at the festival. I would send the note home and stating that if volunteers can't make it then it will be canceled. I know that when I have done that I get plenty of volunteers I tried this about 4 years ago.
If you have names and phone numbers, start calling. It takes a lot of time and effort, but the returns are pretty good.
Another option, send home a note stating the fall festival will be cancelled if we don't get volunteers to do (list specific tasks) by (deadline date). You will hear from the ones that always put things off til the last minute.
Take it from Been There--Done That, your biggest mistake will be to try and do it all on your own or with only a handful of volunteers.
Help!!!!!! Our Fall Festival is only 3 weeks away. I sent out 425 volunteer surveys and have received only 20 vack, 15 who are interested in helping out at school, and only 8 who can help in the Fall Festival. so..........WHAT DO I DO NOW?? any suggestion wil be GREATLY appreciated.
