We do have teacher reps; every teacher comes at least one time to a meeting during the year. The principal comes to every meeting, which I'm happy about! We have a great staff who are very caring and involved!! I was hoping to gain some insight on what the purpose would be for having a parent rep from every class, other than seeing the attendence climb. Any ideas?
I think its a good idea to TRY to get more people to come. Perhaps a "special" invitation may help. But I wouldnt expect many to come. Do you have a teacher rep? We have a teacher come to every meeting to give us input from their side.
I am the Parent Involvement Coordinator for our school as well as having 2 children in the school. I have also been very involved with the PTO for several years. There have been several parents, as well as teachers, ask to have a rep from each of their classrooms to go to the PTO meetings. I think this is a great idea, if not just to get attendance up there and have parents involved. But my question is this: Putting attendance aside, why would each class need a rep? What would you have their "duties" be? Would they bring information back to the teacher so he/she could include that info in their weekly newletter? We do include info into a flyer from the PTO after each meeting that goes home in every Friday folder for parents who aren't able to make the meeting. Any ideas from anybody out there?
Thank you!
