Does anyone have any great ideas to share, or plan that their school does every year in support of:
Take Charge of Your TV Week—October 13-19, 2002
Our teachers at the elementary school have the student that are willing to take steps to reduce TV viewing and start something like Family Fun at Night. The student sign a contract that they will not watch TV at night during the week , and instead will take up reading, or playing board and card games with fellow family members.
If you want ideas on this, check out this website:

here's just a couple of things that we encourage our families to consider:
Choose Carefully, Watch Critically
* Set rules for television viewing and how to stick to those rules.
* Recognize the ways in which television can be used to manipulate viewers.
* Talk to children about violence on television.
* Turn what we see on television into positive and educational family discussions
share here if anyone has any great ideas.
