V/C in desperate need for help!!

I have been a volunteer coordinator for 6years know
and I have always kept a log of hours for as long as
I have been doing this. We not only do this to keep
track of the hours for title 1 funding but everyone
who has volunteered 10 hours or more by the end of the schol year we have a awards lunch to honor all the time they put in.We also give certificates to everyone who volunteers because all volunteers are
appreciated.

I calculate the hours by 15 minutes =.25
1/2 hour =.50 ,and 45 minutes =.75 etc. this is the easiest way to keep track of the hours.
Hope this helps. :D

Yes, if you bake cookies at home for a school function, you are Volunteering your time (and money) for school. LOG IT IN! Thanks for the reminder, I have a pumpkin bread in my oven as I type this!

The grant money goes to the school. The principal is the one who signs up for it. At least that is the way it works here.

Okay... I'll bite.

WHO gets the grant money? Who applies?
Are there guidelines that dictate what type of volunteer hours can be counted (baking cookies?)?

First time I"ve ever heard of accounting for volunteer time. If anyone has specifics about grants available.... please share.

IMove- Lisa in Tx is right. You can get grants based on your volunteer hours. We sign in even if we do stuff at home like bake cookies or computer work.

I believe there are grants you can apply for when you have a certain amount of volunteer hours.

Hopefully someone can give you specifics.....
