I'm new at this too. I started my own "Bible", in which I organized my workweek, deadlines, forms I want to send out, a calendar, ...everything pertaining to PTO. I carry my "bible" everywhere. It helps me keep my notes and info in one place. After every event or meeting, I critique the experience and make notes to avoid future recurrences of mistaks.

Read over the ideas and just wait - you'll have so many of your own ideas flowing - you won't be able to stop them and you'll be revising so fast - you'll laugh and smile at the network of people that sent you lots of ideas.

Your already off to a good start by using this site! You will be amazed at how much help & encouragement you will get and receive! Last year was my 1st year and was nominated after school started. It will be hectic but you can do it. My 1st year it was myself and 3 other members that did everything. We were so busy we didn't even have time to form committees to get us help! If time allows, send home letter asking for volunteers in varies areas. Teacher/staff birthday & monthly goodies, media assistance to help w/ book fairs, field day, room moms, ect. The more help the easier it will be. I know that even w/ help offered it will probably fall back on a few of you but make it fun and it will be worth all your hard work. You would not of been asked if they didn't think you could do it. Good luck and keep intouch w/ this site. You will find daily pick me ups!!!

I can offer a sense of humor, courage for the year to come, and a will to do your personal best for the students you will be doing for!

Once you get past that first meeting you will breathe a sigh of relief and be ready for almost anything! That's what it was like for me.
