THIS IS A GREAT PARENT ACTIVITY TO "MAGICALLLY" CAPTURE THE HEARTS OF YOUR SCHOOL'S STUDENTS!
We used it at our school, and the results were amazing to say the least.
The number one thing kids love is watching magic tricks performed.
HERE'S HOW WE CARRIED IT OUT....
Our parents visited a local magic supplies store and had the owner select and demonstrate about 10
neat tricks they could easily master and in turn perform them for the school's students.
They took the tricks home to practice
til they became proficient in performing their
activity, along w/ the dialouge they would use in presenting it to the students.
Some of the tricks...multiplying rabbits, chinese laundry ticket, money changer, changing silk scarves
ect....the cost about $25.00.
Well, they all became Houdini's in short order.
The next step was to practice among themselves W/ a couple of other staff members sitting in.
They got so carried away w/ their new found skills, they made wands, top hats and capes. They were on a roll...
SIGNS WERE PLACED AROUND THE SCHOOL...
THE PARENT MAGICIAN'S CLUB MIGHT BE
COMING TO YOUR ROOM...SEE YOUR TEACHER,
COUNSELOR,OR PRINCIPAL FOR DETAILS.
The parents had already presented this activity to the staff and they loved it.
The criteira for having the magic show come to the various rooms were set by the staff...
eg. Excellence in the lunchroom..class w/ best attendance for the month..classes w/ least latenesses..classes w/ best behavior..ect.
Each deserving class got to see about 2-3 tricks performed which took about 10 minutes at the most.
The parents couldn't show all their magic powers at on time.
The classes had to earn more appearences by the"GREAT PARENT MAGICIANS"
The oohs, the aahs, the "how did you do that?"were some of the excited responses from the children.
They were turned on,as that's what magic does for children.
I'll tell you one thing, the students will relate to those parents whenever they see them in the school or community....because "IT'S MAGIC!"
And in the process build a stronger bond between parents and the school.
Try it at your school. You'll be surprised at the
outcomes, not even mentioned here....put your own spin on"THE PARENT MAGICIAN'S CLUB"
