TOP 10 REASONS I CAN'T MAKE IT TO A PTVO MEETING
1. I CAN'T AFFORD IT: This PTVO does not require or accept dues. It does not cost a dime to attend. As a matter of fact, we'll provide coffee and a dessert. There are some awesome door prizes you could win just for showing up. Odds of winning are better than the lottery...
2. I DON'T KNOW ANYONE THERE: We don't know you either... but we'd like to! Come get to know the parents, teachers and volunteers who work with your students.
3. I DON'T KNOW WHEN THE MEETINGS ARE: We generally meet on the 3rd Monday of the month unless there is a holiday or if school is getting out (don't tease me...)
4. I DON'T HAVE THE TIME... 5. I'M TOO TIRED...
6. I WORK AT NIGHT...
Meetings will last one hour. There will be coffee. Send Grandma.
7. I CAN'T SAY 'NO' AND I'LL END UP DOING EVERYTHING: For the last time, Doing Everything is MY JOB and you can't have it! Look in the mirror. Practice saying "no...No...NO...". Seriously, we have a great group and everyone pitches in.
8. I DON'T HAVE A BABYSITTER: Joshua is a high school student. He is not on drugs. He is good with children and small animals. He works cheap. He has help. We'll pay him.
9. THERE WILL BE LOTS OF OTHER PARENTS THERE SO YOU WON'T NEED ME: Pahleeeeeese! If we had a dime for everyone who thought that, we wouldn't have to run any fundraisers! We Want and Need You!
10. I DON'T KNOW WHAT PTVO STANDS FOR: Please come to YOUR Parent Teacher Volunteer Organization meetings!
I saw a funny letter that talked of "top 10 reasons I cant get involved in PTO" or the like. I thought I copied it off but cant find it. I would love to have this to put in our 1st of the year newsletter.I have looked all over the posts & cant track it down again. Im sorry! I would really appreciate if it could get posted again. One of reasons say something like "If I volunteer for one thing then Ill end up running the whole thing" then the pres would say " you cant do it all cuz thats my job & you cant have it!". I hope the right person sees this cuz I just loved that letter! Thank you!!
