This site is great. I just want to say is to remember that we are all working hard for our kids and schools because we care. Ignore the negativity and focus on the positive, people will always hurry to criticise but drag their feet to praise. Keep on going it is worth it.

Hang in there we all feel the same when those obstacles come our way. It's awful when you don't have the support of your principal. I agree with mykidsmom and I love her attitude I myself have a just the song "sunshine" for my kids sake that's why I do what I do for them. I have a quick moment of silence pick up my head and walk in the school with my head up and proud to be part of the school. Again, hang tight May's rolling around. Put your mission statement on your dash of your car read it everytime you get to the school before you step out. Talk to you later.

Funny, I hear "Know when to walk away , know when to run!" I also keep in my head that song from the 80's 'Break my stride'--nothings gonna braka my stride, or going to slow me down, I've got to keep a mov'n! Then there is my Eagles CD I listen to on my way to school before every meeting, Hell Freezes Over- there is a song called "get Over it!" Love it!! Helps me face the parents that are still stuck on the things we voted on three meetings ago or my VP's additude (or rather lack of) towards the membership.

May 13 is elections for me and is the one thing that keeps me going! Hang in there!! We can get through this together! hey, thank you for all you're doing!!

I could use a little inspiration. I'm the president of the PTO and have had to fight the whole year. I'm trying to enforce the bylaws and add some structure like a budget, job descriptions, etc. to make the PTO less overwhelming to new people. The problem is that the principal doesn't like the ideas because he wants to run everything himself and the past president is the biggest gossip and doesn't think twice about badmouthing people. There are some great people too but their voices get drowned out. I'm sure others have faced this problem so I could use a little advice. I keep hearing Kenny Rogers "know when to hold em and know when to fold em". Thanks.
