Well, it went alot better than I thought--I just spoke in general and had a couple of people back me which was great for a change.. No one got mad or they covered it up real good.. Now it time to just set back and see if it made any differnce

I am going to be as positive and polite as I can be. I will just talk in general at first and see how it goes, but she thinks she is the president and she can control all even if it is something that was decided on prior. Our meeting is one week from tomorrow, so I have plenty of time to ponder... Thanks for all you input and support:)
It's going to be hard to be direct without being confrontational on this...especially if it involves only her. You could start by saying that folks are getting concerned about actions that aren't considered board PTO actions. No one wants to make the PTO seem like it is just one person so "we need to make sure that when actions or purchases are made, they are done with the full consent and knowledge of the board." Again, there is no doubt that this will lead to ill feelings if the President is sensitive -- but that is kind of the place she has put you in and you can say that. I would certainly want to know if my actions, intentional or not intentional, caused misperceptions (sometimes they will happen regardless). If she is an effective leader she'll take it, step back and consider the information she has received and accept the good, discard the bad--but at least you've voiced it. Then you'll have to tighten down on the procedures--let someone else shop, give only one person the authority to shop for a given event...and then communicate constantly. I have folks calling all the time so we can discuss if something is on track or not on track. But don't thinkt his won't have an impact on your relationship...I suspect it will cause "hurt" but if it is the right thing, it is the right thing....just practice in your mind so it is as non inflamatory and non confrontational as you can make it....d
