I just got an office- now what to do?

Great time to start a filing system...also do the vulletin board and make it a place for kudos to members, important information and a "who's doing it" area. Important phone numbers, lastest newsletter and schedule of events. We also have a chair for nursing moms/volunteers and a toy corner for our volunreers. Makes it easier for them to agree to come. We put a little coffee pot with cups and goodies to encourage folks to come in and rest/help. We also house our book swap there! Good luck...d

Sigh, an office. The closest I ever came was a desk I could sometimes use that was in the work room. Needless to say I was a little heart broken when someone put a broken tv on it.

Don't forget your basics: Staplers (I like the electric ones for doing packets, etc.) white out, paper clips, a million pens, post its, scissors. Sometimes the basics are hard to remember. I guess we take them for granted.

A copier would be nice, a laminator, dye cutter, paper cutter, bulletin board paper holder. OK if you gonna wish you may as well wish big.

CC and Jennia - we didn't get an "office" so to speak, but as of right now - if enrollment stays where it is right now - we have an entire classroom. YEP that's right and the door is lockable! We have already decided to move in a couch, and coffee maker, microwave, etc. HAHA!
But seriously, we have two grown up desks in there, and no grown up chairs, we feel like we are sitting on the ground. We must work on that - if we get to keep the room!! Pray for us! We need the space!

I'm not sure if you ought to be jealous. It is a corner office with no great view and is located right next to the staff ladies' room. ;)

I think the first thing I'll do Monday is go and clean it up. There is junk (old files and equipment) as well as a computer (that isn't set up) all over the room so it isn't very inviting.

This office belonged to the Vice Principal that we lost over the winter break so they've had 7-8 months to stash junk in there.

I have to confide though that I'm over the top excited that we got this space!!! I would not have thought to ask for one except reading the posts here.

I'll have a Caramel Mocha Macchiato. Thanks for thinking of me!

I'd probably put a book shelf in - if you have room - and start a document archive. Include binders for each year for bylaws, agendas and minutes and also binders for each committee so future chairmen can reference them.

p.s. - Once I get over being insanely jealous (a whole office for PTO?!?!) I might have more ideas.
