Ours last about 1-1hr 15min. we talk about the quick things first. Then the items that need the longest discussion at the end. It always works out better. Just get started on time and keep it moving. Sometimes it's hard and you just have to talk a little louder.
Good Luck!
I try to keep ours no longer than a hour. If there's cross-talking , I keep right on moving and talk a little louder that usually stops it. In soccer board meetings, we've used a timer. The time limit set for 10 min.
Good luck!
This is great I CAN see at least 10 differnt meeting that have happend just like many of the above.ptomomoftwoboys I give this bit of advice to new moms TAKE ALL ADVICE WITH A GRAIN OF SALT AND USE ONLY WHAT FITS YOU AND YOUR NEEDS.
Our meetings go for an hour, I am very careful about that because most people dont have much more time than that anyway, especially the teacher rep and principal. One thing I wonder about, what do you talk about for 2 hours? Its seems like much of that time would be either just "gab" or talking about things that arent relevant to a board meeting. ie, planning events at board meetings instead of having committee meetings. At board meetings I expect my Committee Chairs to report what the plans are that they decided at their planning meeting. Maybe you are also discussing things about budget that are better served in a Executive Board meeting before the board meeting, sometimes having your executive board all on the same page ahead of time can save a lot of time in board meetings.
