oh i'm so sorry....my daughters trip to spain was cancelled too
a couple of things popped into my head...could you take that cash and bring somebody really great to the school? i have no idea who, but if mohammed can't go to the mountain... also, a few years back my son was hit by a car so we had to cancel our trip to disney. instead we checked into the sheraton not too far away for 3 weeks and had a blast. when the staff heard why we were there my kids had the run of the place....free video games, they could walk into the kitchen or restaurant and have whatever they liked, free movies, etc... people respond well to a child's needs. i don't know what your parents would support or how your trip was funded, but the kids really shouldn't be let down. we adults need as much credibility as we can get! maybe if you called a few hotels around you and let them know your plight, perhaps they would have something to offer if you stayed there. limo service....a party in a banquet room...maybe you could be tourists in your own city...get tickets to all of the things we never go see in our own back yard. it's not dc but the kids will love it!
OUR 5TH GRADE ALWAY TAKES A TRIP TO DC. LAST YEAR BECASUE OF 9/11 THEY WENT TO WILLIAMSBURG VA INSTEAD. THIS YEAR THE TRIP TO WASHINGTON WAS TO CONINUE, BUT WITH THREATS OF WAR AND THE TERROR ALERT...THE TRIP WAS CANCELLED AND THERE ARE TO BE NO FIELD TRIPS OUT OF STATE OR MORE THAN 30 MILES AWAY. THERE IS NOTHING CLOSE BY. THIS WILL BE THE FIRST CLASS IN 10 YEARS TO HAVE NO TRIP. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON A PROGRAM OR ??????? WE CAN DO FOR THESE KIDS. THEY WORKED SO HARD TO GET TO GO AND NOW THEY HAVE NOTHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO. IDEAS PLEASE
