I am a consultant for Thirty One Gifts. I offer several different fundraising options that can be held at any time (some months the profit to you is better) For example Fundraisers that end on or before October can earn $15 per bag sold for one of our most popular bags. If you'd be interesting in discussing further please send me an email.

I'm also very interested in an educated answer here. My situation is much like the original poster as our school is a new, small, private school that is an LLC. We're a PTO that wants to be a 501c3 so we can reap the benefits of the status but are unsure about the rules of giving to an LLC.
Not sure why its a problem to be a non-profit and host a fundraiser to donate monies to a specific cause? If it is, why not do it outside the box of the not for profit and simply be a small group of concerned parents holding a fundraiser? This year we tried a new product called RaDTaGZ - very cool bracelets - this was a huge success at our school. Hope that is helpful!
I'm a member of a newly-formed parents association for my daughter's school (it just got formed last night!) We're in the process of registering ourselves as a non-profit parents association. Our school is a private, for-profit school and the principal told us that it will take him at least 4-5 years to get the financial stabilized to convert the school to a non-profit school.
One of our priorities is to improve the play area for our grade K-3 kids. We want a new play structure and do some other nice things (add plants, do some nice murals, add outside play things, etc.) Please excuse my ignorance, but my question is this -- how does a non-profit parents association effectively fund-raise for a for-profit school? Could someone please educate me? What can we do? Where do we start? How can our association raise enough money to make a nice play area for our kids? (Although we send our kids to a private school, we are ordinary working moms and dads and not rich enough to find this kind of money in our own pockets...) Any advice you have will be greatly appreciated.
