That's interesting. The reporting should be almost in real time. We know within 24-48 hours when a purchase is registered. One of the options with the company that you're using is that individuals have the opportunity of receiving a "personal rebate". Thus, your supporters may be unwilling to give up a $100 rebate check.
Only $5 or so on average. We've never been very successful at getting people to focus on the whole online shopping thing. Also, last year our chairperson never publicized it at all; the new chairperson for this year has been a little more diligent, so we're cautiously optimistic. But we're focusing on the marketplace from BoxTops, and the reporting lag is so great that we won't really know how we're doing for the holiday season until it's over.
I've never been able to figure out why iGive is able to record your rebates within a few days, and BoxTops and other similar organizations have lags of at least 6 weeks..... It's very frustrating.
Yes, we have used iGive for several years now, and have been very happy with them. But, the biggest benefit is the $5 signup bonus. After that, the percentages that they pay are kind of small when you compare them to the online marketplace for Boxtops for Education. So, we've switched to publicizing the Boxtops for Education marketplace. If you do Boxtops anyway, I think it's easier for people to remember.
