I kinda like Menzy's idea too! Or better yet, see if the teachers would like to incorporate the bottles into a gift for the Moms and/or Grandmas for Valentines Day! (It's coming up!)
Make sure you thank the company and let your school enjoy the donation! THEN donate the left overs.
--the nursing home is a tough one as my Mother-in-law worked for one for years and she always told us stories about broken perfume bottles or a woman that used a whole bottle of lotion and EVERYONE knew she was coming!
With all the selfless answers above, I feel kinda cheap saying this but...
If it came from an advertiser, I'd say send it home with the kids. You could save the left overs and put them with some other personal care items, put them into pretty little baskets to give to teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week.
I hope this doesn't lessen anyones image of me...lol...
We just did a collection for the troops in Iraq. Do you or anyone in your school know anyone in the military that may be home for the holidays and can take supplies back? I think lotion was on the list of items needed since it is so dry, warm over there. Might be a good start in collecting for a good cause. Check out www.usometrodc.org/care.html#WISHLIST.
If you want to use it to raise money, do you have a festival. Can be given as game prizes???
Does your school do any community service projects? Our school collects personal care items and makes boxes for the Veterans. It's run by the Student Council and I'm sure they'd welcome a donation like this.
Or, if you give gifts for Teacher Appreciation you could include a bottle with their gifts.
Good Morning! I just received 350 bottles of lotion as a donation to our PTA. I am at a loss on how to best utilize this donation. We are a small school of about 250 kids. PK - 8. Any ideas appreciated. Thank you!
