Our school for the first time this year is doing 1/2 "opt out" fundraising and 1/2 "wrapping paper" fundraising w our campaign. This way we give the parents an option. What I am interested in is if anyone has ever done a letter about a capital campaign before, and if so how is it worded? Thanks so much. I am so glad I found this sight.

The parents have the choice to opt-out of the regular fundraisers (gift wrap, cookie dough) and give a donation which they can deduct on their taxes. Last year we had about 20% participation but augmented it with the regular fundraisers which many parents still wanted and participated in.
We find that with this option, we get donations from families that had not participated in the "traditional" fundraisers in prior years.

Does anybody have an opt-out option for fundraising? Members have expressed the desire to pay a set amount at the beginning of the school year in lieu of buying for fundraisers. Any info would be helpful.
