We have found that most companies don/t like showing up to these meetings. The first year we didn't tell them others would be there. We heard from 3 of the 4 companies.
There should be rules. The first one is have them draw to see who goes first and so on. Most companies feel that the last one has the advantage. Also, guarantee that no other information is shared with other companies. Our second rule is we ABSOLUTELY will not work with anyone that says I'll give you more than the last guy. We want to see your products and hear your presentation. We are not going to give you business unless you earn it for yourself.
We had a company this year give us 5% less on our sale, but explained to our group how we would make more money AND WE DID. Don't get caught up in a percentage game, they are cutting costs somewhere.
I am organizing a 4 county pto/pta/booster club/scout group etc. meeting in Washington state and would like to invite several fund raising companies to either be present or send information to share with the group.
Do you know of a fund raising group I should consider asking?
I have asked several to participate already but I would hate to miss out on that ONE GREAT idea!
