For our teachers and staff I just got 2 massage therapists to come to our school and give out free 10 minute massage to the teacher and staff member. I had to tell the principal and you should have heard how excited she was.
Something that we have done in the past was have a different theme for each of the four days prior to the luncheon. On one day the kids can all bring thier teacher a flower it can be a real one or one colored on paper or even a cut out one from construction paper. On day two they can each bring a piece of fruit (if there is too much, it can be shared with other staff members). On day three each kid can bring a card, it can be store bought or home made. On day four each child can bring in a school supply for the teacher (pen, pencils, glue, tape, etc.)
Here's an idea that I have been considering for our school . Have all the children in each class write or draw someting in a book, about thier teacher and why she's\he's so special and compile the papers in a book for each teacher to have. If you room parents are will to help. You could probably pull it off. My only concern was what if a teacher didn't get any replies.
We are a brand new elementary school. We are going to server lunch to our teachers on the final day of Teacher Appreciation Week. On the other 4 days, we would like the class rooms to do something individual for their teacher. We are going to work with our room parents to coordinate this. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
