We are actually considering this. I have a friend who owns a small Scrapbook store and this past summer, she helped ONE girl do a crop for a school trip, and she earned $1500 in 10 hours.
Here's how ONE CHILD earned $1500. She sold tickets to the crop $30, I think which included one raffle ticket, a goody bag, free coffee all day, a good snack, candy, and a hearty lunch ( but inexpensive) She had 35 seats, and sold all of them, and then sold extra raffle tickets, and pulled prizes every hour. She did it in her church, where the rental fee was minimal, and they had access to a kitchen
The scrapbook store set up a sales booth, for the day, and sold miscellany all day, and gave her 10% of the profit. The sales reps who sell to the scrapping store DONATED all of the raffle prizes.. ( they want their product out there).
So, all in allnot bad for a fairly easy set up. If I did it at school, I would offer all the same, but lower the entrance fee, as we have MUCH more space in our cafeteria than they did at the church. I would then advertise it with all the local scrapping stores and the Creative Memories and Stampin UP reps ( who could also have a booth, or give raffle prizes) and also try to get a grand prize from ACMOORE like a $100 gift card... and have a separate raffle for it!
People who don't scrap or stamp have NO CLUE what a huge business it is. But, all they have to do is go to ACMOORE or Michaels and see all the aisles of this product!
