hhmmm laser show, I too am interested!
We have a monthly skate party for the families, a pot luck that we have moved to this fall because our hockey team (NHL) and the NFL have play offs in the late winter/spring and makes it really hard to do anything. It's not so much the weather but if we would rent a big screen TV ALL the families would show!
Maggie, I don't know if you can compare your school to other schools. Weather plays a big part of your school year. If you have "winter" then this eliminate part of your year and your parental energy. (Who wants to leave the house in the dead of winter.) Send a survey asking your parents and students. Do they want more? If most of your people are happy with what you have...then you should be happy also. I do have a question, what is your Laser show? Hi, I was curious as to how many events other pta/pto's do per school year. Currently we have on our tentative schedule the following:
sept: back to school night
oct: 50th day of school 50's sock hop (thanks to you guys on this board!)
nov: nothing
dec: laser light show and dinner
jan: nothing
feb: bingo
march: talent show
april: nothing
may: spring picnic
We have an after school program that runs for 6-8 weeks sometime in jan and feb, I think.
I'm assuming that there are other events that I don't know about that really aren't pta sponsored.....
the library runs the book sale on it's own. Please tell me that we have enough stuff going on! :> ) maggie
