When we ordered our car magnets from www.spirit-wear.com, one of the advertisers on PTOtoday.com, they told us about a special ink that they use on their car magnets. It is resistant to UV rays and formulated for outdoor use so it does not fade.
The reason her car faded was because she didn't properly maintain her magnet. You need to remove them off and not leave them constantly on your vehicle.
You need to whipe down the area where the magnet goes.
Otherwise dirt gets under the magnet and causes the magnet outline on your vehicle.
I have an use and care sheet I could email you if you're interested. (disclaimer - my co. offers magnets & other fundraisers - this is how I know )

We considered selling magnets last year. One teacher said that she used a magnet on her blue car, and after a year the CAR color faded around the magnet. She was pretty ticked off. Something to consider - we decided not to sell magnets.

We tried car magnets this year and it was a great success. We earned over 50% profit. I found a company www.logomagnet.com
that had really nice magnets, great artwork (free) and they don't fade like some i've heard about.
They have a free sample pack if you are interested.
