We've done it our school. But it was over the summer. You bought tickets in advance for several movies at a discount, and went at odd times, like Tues at 11. It was a small success. Just try different theaters.
I hope you have better luck than I did. I called our local theater and they never returned my call! We wanted to offer this as the grand prize of a fundraiser. We were hoping to have the theater all to ourselves and the class with the top sells were going to be going. Its a great idea. Good Luck!!
I was wondering if anyone has arranged a special showing at a local movie theater, possbly Sat or Sun afternoon, where they received discounted tickets, possibly free popcorn, and the show was open only to student of the school?
Our PTO in the past has done bowling or roller skating nights with declining interest. I was wondering if anyone has tried this. We live in a rural area and would only have 2 theaters that would really be close enough to even consider.
If anyone has tried it, what kind of deals did the theater offer. Was it only "exclusive use" or did you get a discounted ticket rate, discounted or free popcorn/refreshments.
My thought was if we could plan it far enough ahead we could put a bug in the parents ear to not see a particular show before the showing, and even if we wait until 2 or 3 weeks after the premier. I would think the theater would be thrill to fill a showing of a movie for a matinee show, even if it was at a discounted rate.
Anywhoo, just wondered if anyone has done this. Thanks
