jumping in here to say, we also use Memory Book Company & love them! No other publishers bothered to quote me a price when they heard the deal we got at MBC. They were super to work with too. Our book this year will have just over 100 pages, 12 color, hardback, and we sell it for $20. We make about $1500. Yearbook coordinator has been my favorite volunteer job!
I looked at Memory Book for our yearbook this year but we have been using the same company for so long that a contract was already signed before I arrived. We are going to seriously look at Memory Book for next year and would like to know what your impressions are about their customer service. Please email me offline as I'm not consistent in reviewing posts on the message board.
Thanks,

We use Memory Book Company. Last year, we had a 64 page yearbook and sold it for $18.00. We do a lot of the page lay outs in scrapbooking fashion to save on the cost. We also sell advertising for $25.00 for a business card size ad.
Just wanted to follow up on the last question...
Our school too is using LifeTouch and this will be our first year organizing a yearbook and I'm trying to determine using companies vs. DIY.
To Mom4ever: Our school is using Lifetouch also for photos, but I find them too expensive for a yearbook. How did you put your book together and what printer did you use? Is your book color or B/W? Thanks!
We have always done our own yearbooks. We have a local printer that gives us a great deal. We have a committee (3-4 ladies) who take pictures year round of all school activities. Our picture company (LifeTouch) provides our class pictures on a cd so we use that as well. These ladies put the book together and send to printer, with digital photos it has gotten much easier. It takes us 5-7 business days to get the book back. The cost to students is $8.00. We provide all our graduating 5th graders with a free book. Order forms are sent home it is the families choice to order or not. And this way we do not over order and get left with extra books. The teacher's all receive one as well (no charge). We generally make a small profit.
