Fundraising Incentives

I was at a Pep Club meeting today at the high school. I forgot where the rep was from but he had a 5lb bag of gummy bears for those who sold 20 items. They liked that...alot. I am thinking, gummy bears? The guy also offered them a pizza party if they sold so much. One student said he was on the "Subway Diet", so the guy said that if they worked together and sold enough for that party he would see to it that student got a Subway. LOL! I suppose it is easier at this level to offer incentive because these kids are in so many clubs they don't know what the other is doing, but if you could set a goal for the group as a whole and celebrate with everyone for reaching the goal I don't think anyone would feel left out.

We do not always offer incentives for our fundraisers. Most often we do, but sometimes we forgo the incentives for a larger profit percentage.

We are a small k-8 Catholic School (approx. 500 students). We only offer prizes for our largest fundraiser, a magazine drive. We have reps from Innisbrook, etc. trying to get us to do incentive programs. Our principal's philosophy is to limit these incentives as not everyone can participate in all of these fundraisers. How have any of you handled incentives for your school?
