My daughter's school had their field day last week and I think if it weren't for the water games
it wouldn't be that popular of a day! Lots of water and tons of sunscreen!
Water ballons, sponge toss game, I think the older students had a dunk tank!
I found a great Field Day Planner for schools online...it was presented by the Hershey Food Co. and you can get it by clicking here
Fields of Fun - Field Day Planner
It has checklists, planning tips, etc...I think it will be very helpful!
OUR SCHOOL IS ABOUT THE SAME SIZE AND GRADE LEVEL AND WE WORK VERY CLOSE WITH OUR P.E. TEACHER IN PLANNING THE EVENTS. EVERYTHING IS ON A SCHEDULE INCLUDING WATER TENT BREAKS SNACKS ETC. ONE GAME IS CLEAN YOU ROOM RELAY. IT IS ABOUT 25 ITEMS ON THE GROUND IN A HULA-HOOP CIRCLE. THE KIDS RUN A CERTIAN DISTANCE AND GET ONE ITEM OUT OF THE CIRCLE AND RUN BACK AND PUT IT IN ANOTHER CIRCLE BACK AT THE BEGINNING. WE ALSO DO JUMP ROPE CONTESTS BOYS VS. BOYS AND GIRLS VS. GIRLS, FIRST AND SECOND PRIZES PER CLASS PER GRADE. WE HAVE MANY MORE IDEAS IF YOU WOULD LIKE THEM E-MAIL ME. GOOD LUCK. This email address is being protected from spambots. We're getting ready to plan activities for Field Day. Any suggestions? We're a Pre-K - 5 Elementary School with about 550 children. In the past we've had sack races, tug of war, water balloon toss, wet sponge relay etc. Any idea's would be greatly appreciated.
