Our school has an annual "reading night". It has traditionally been an early evening event 6:30-8 where students can come to the school library in their PJs and we have 'guest readers'. This year we are holding the event on Friday, March 1 and it will be a totally Dr. Seuss themed night. There will be guest readers (at this point we hope to have at least one area radio personality and several scout troops as well as many teachers and parents to read short Seuss stories)and one parent has volunteered to bake a "birthday cake" for refreshments. We also have a volunteer to dress up as the Cat in the Hat.
Hi everyone, I'm looking for some idea's to celebrate Dr. Seuss' Birthday on March 1st (his actual birthday falls on a Saturday) and also for what everyone is doing for Parents As Reading Partners.
In the past we have coloring contests, story writing contests, guest speakers, etc.
