This is interesting, as the closest amusement park to us is Six Flags Great America. I've noticed they have turned to "importing" help from Eastern Europe, because there is no one willing to work the parks. Same thing with the Wisconsin Dells.
We have something similar to this in Milwaukee for volunteer groups to work the concession stands at our sports arena "The Bradley Center".
Find out what kind of commitment they want. At the Bradley Center it's a HUGE commitment of time. Like 10 nights. Not a one-day thing. So unless you have a large volunteer pool to tap from, I wouldn't pursue it.
Has anyone tried out the Booster Bucks at Cedar Point Amuzement Park in Ohio? I was visiting their web site the other day and came across some info. Apparantly it's a program where volunteers work at the park for a set amount of time in return for a donation to the organization? Sounds like fun to me. Once scenerio was if you got 25 people to work an 8 hour shift they would donate $1,000, and of course more money for more people and more hours! The parent company also owns other parks throughout the US. I signed up to receive the imformation packet in April but was wondering if anyone on this lovely site had participate in an event like this.
