We also really tried to hold on with NSC as long as we could but our parents will not tolerate or wait weeks or months for their order and I do not blame them. We switched to GLS and have had no problems whatsoever and profits are higher in some cases. We've been putting orders in on Monday and receiving the certificates by Wednesday of the same week.
Sounds like NSC has done alot of work and I hope the best for them. We placed 2 orders the first week of school and have yet to have them completed. Today, after holding on for 15 min., I finally spoke to a customer service rep and was told it would probably be another couple of weeks before I received my order. I ask for a full refund and was told it would be mailed in 3-4 weeks! Our school is small and to make our scrip program profitable, PTO advances the money to buy what is mostly requested in advance and then we collect on what is sold. NSC has had our money since August and we can't collect a profit since we don't have the merchant cards to sale. We have since then switched to GL Scrip and have yet to have any back orders and receive our shipment in 2 days. Our parents wouldn't support the program if they had to wait 7-10 days.
Good luck and we hope the best for NSC but they just didn't work for us.
Many of you know that NSC is the only national nonprofit scrip company. Like many other organizations, we’ve gone through our share of trying times. Many of you reached out to NSC and offered words of support and encouragement over the last eight months. We thank you for your kind words and appreciate your patience.
We wanted to let you know that we’ve changed our program based on your feedback and our mission of getting the most money back to nonprofit organizations. Most scrip companies keep a portion of the discount and pass on the remainder to the nonprofits. However, our program will change beginning Wednesday the 12th, to offer our nonprofits the full merchant discount. We will now cover the cost of running our nonprofit organization through a per card or certificate processing fee which more closely reflects what we do.
In addition, we realize a 10-day order turnaround and backorders makes it difficult for coordinators to effectively run their scrip programs. Therefore, we have worked diligently with our merchants to ensure orders will be shipped from NSC within 2-3 days and are giving four shipping options.
Given the strength and commitment of the PTO community, we monitor this site closely and welcome further feedback. Scrip is a powerful fundraising tool. Whether you’re working with NSC or one of our competitors, we wish you great success in your program.
Sincerely,
Amy Schaus

We haven't used NSC but we do use New England Scrip www.newenglandscrip.com
Depending on where you are at you might want to check them out. They are great!!! We are located on Cape Cod and they have the grocery stores and restaurants that are here. Plus all the other stores that are local to New England. We have been using them since Sept. and are very happy.
We used to use NSC, and had a LOT of problems with backorders. This was not good, because it turns off your supporters. Also, they extended their turnaround time, by about 10 days. It simply didn't work for us anymore. This year, we started using Great Lakes Scrip www.glscrip.com
and can't believe the difference. The customer service is awesome, we haven't had a backorder yet, and their turnaround time is fast. I would recommend them to anyone. Good Luck!
