Hey! We're expanding our Pumpkin Painting Night into a low-key Fall Festival this year. Here is what we currently have planned...
1) Pumpkin painting- We have the pumpkins donated by a local farm. We provide abundant craft supplies and let the kids- and parents!- go for it!
2) Caramel Apples- We are buying the apples at cost from a local farm (we live in WA so there are plenty!!!). A dad with restaurant connections is trying to get the caramel and additional toppings donated. We'll provide the sticks.
3) Costume Contest- We are going to have simple ribbons and bags of candy for prizes, I think. We may do some fun, inventive categories... for example: Best Costume made out of 3 garbage bags, two paper towel rolls and some duct tape; Best Family Costume, etc.
4) Pie Contest- We're going to have a dessert bakeoff, with seperate divisions for adults and kids. We have some guest judges coming in. (Got this idea from the Mid-Atlantic Parent Group of the Year winner... they do a chili/ salsa cookoff. It seems like a great idea so we'll be doing our own version!)
5) Photo Booth- We sell digital pictures for $1 a piece... I just bring my photo printer and we run them off toward the end of the evening! We began doing this last year... it was a big hit. We will now do it at every family night we do!
Good luck with all you do!
