Our label collection needed a boost. The label coordiatior is terrific at using a spreadsheet. We have contests through out the year. The second contest was Nov. - Feb. but in January no labels were coming in. The solution: a class competiton, the prize an ice cream party for the top class.
We began this competition from Jan. 23 - Feb. 21. Not only did the top class get an ice cream party, the top 3 families receive a prize and a special drawing for all families who participated.
The results were overwhelming!! We collected Box Tops, Best Choice, Campbells & Tyson.
114 families participated (282 in the school)compared to 29 families the 1st contest.
8698 labels turned in Jan. 23 - Feb. 21
11,265 total labels Nov. - Feb. 21
2012 labels for the top class
$485.00 for Box Tops
One child turned in 1100 Best Choice labels alone. It is $30.00 we didn't have before.
We learned that kids like competition and parents need to be reminded LOTS to turn in labels. Some thought we weren't collecting any more!
I hope this encourages others to promote the labels. We sent home an initial flyer then a reminder 1/2 sheet flyer on Friday before the contest ended. Over 2000 were turned in on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
Needless to say, labels are an easy way to earn money!
