It sounds like it's one of those 'We have always done it that way' scenarios. As a PTO member, I would not stand for it and you shouldn't either. You are the treasurer and you are ultimately in charge of the $. Speak to your other board members. Honestly, I have never heard of such a practice before.
???Wait a minute. Who's fundraiser is this? Is your PTO running it? Did you sign the contraact or did she? Who are checks made out to? Something does not seems right here to me.
Need some more info.
I am new here and also this is my first year as the treasurer. Our principal informed us that she will take the money from our fundraiser. She then will give us a portion of it. She will decide how much we will receive.
I also wonder if she can do a fundraiser without PTO involvement and keep the money?
