Michele- Can you give me a short cut on how much this was for your school? I really like the idea but we have a VERY SMALL budget as a new PTO. I'm in Denver so I know we have a station, just want to make sure we don't break our budget for a fun party! Thanks!
Hi, we used radio Disney 2 times, 2 and 3 years ago. They came out of Boston with the radio disney 1260 AM van and the DJ's set up and we had a great time with dancing and prizes etc. Last year, when we called to book, we were informed that they could no longer do events like this with their DJ's because of some legal issue about copyrights or something. We called them back 2 or 3 times to varify what we wanted etc and were told the same thing. We then had to find a second company which is radio parties who I believe is connected with 103.0 FM in Boston.
Our event still goes on, just a different DJ, this year we are having a luau.
That was me. We had Radio Disney back in March and a great time was had by all. For the fee we had to pay, they brought a band, lighting & sound, dj, prizes and LOTS of enthusiasm.
I would suggest you go to www.radiodisney.com
to find out where your local station is located and then register directly with them for the neat events they do in your area.
We had Radio Disney in the past but they are not allowed to come to schools in our area anymore. We have changed to another DJ through a local radio station called radio parties. The have themes that you can pick from ie sock hop. We have an event planned this year. The DJ runs about $500 and we give some things away etc. For us, it is free to all school families as a payback for all the fund raising help throughout the year.
Earlier in the year I read someone's comments about a Radio Disney event at their school. I thought that it was interesting. Does anyone have info on that type of activity? Who to contact? or Something similiar? Thanks.
