Thank you so much for the idea! We actually do that on the last day of school and the children love it! I think we are going to try Breakfast with the Easter Bunny! Serve pancakes and sausage. WE have a photographer coming to take photos with the easter bunny. we are considering doing Easter BAskets (kinda like the Theme Baskets)and auctioning them off! Let you know how it goes~
In our politically correct world of school functions we try to stay clear of anything appearing to have a bias towards one religon. Easter is definately one of those. That said we have an "egg hunt" for grades K- 3. Takes all of 30 seconds ( we do it by grades). And then a clue search for 4th and 5th graders. For the clue search we split each class into 4 teams of 7 (we have two classes of each grade level at our school). The team gets a beginning clue and then they run to the next station. The clue might be "what state rhymes with Alaska?" and they would run to the colored map we have painted on the playground and stand on Nebraska. We have parents manning each station. At the beginning, each team is sent to a seperate station so they can't hear the clues or answers. We do this a grade at a time so 4th grade won't hear 5th grade info. At the end, one team is pronounced the winner for their grade and then they all get treats. The kids really enjoy this. We have a back up indoor clue search instead of doing a rain date which has also been successful. With some planning you could make this a team activity with a few families on a team. Have fun! Our PTO is looking into doing a "Special Family NIGHT" for Easter and were throwing around a few ideas. Poss. Easter egg hunt at nite with flashlights?? Breakfast with the EAster Bunny etc?
Has anyone ever done something like this?? I would appreciate any ideas you may have!
