teachers christmas gifts

We do something called Teachers Purse.

All families are asked to not purchase seperate gifts for their children's teachers but to write a check for what they would have spent. (Remembering of course that their homeroom teacher is not the only one they come in contact with each day.) Checks vary from $1 to $100. The money is then divided between all teachers and other staff. Last year each teacher received over $200. This really means alot to our teachers and they don't have to find room on their tree for another apple ornament or cologne that they will never wear. (Since we are a Catholic school it means even more considering the pay scale.)

Many children still give small hand made gifts to their favorite teacher but it is one less gift you have to agonize over.

Last year our PTO gave the teachers a tray of cookies for their lounge area. This year we are going to decorate the lounge and give them a small breakfast (muffins, bagels, fruit, etc) They seem to enjoy the extra food! Hope this helps you out!

You may win them over with lunch boxes from Heavenly Ham. Our teachers enjoyed them for National Education Week.
