Our PTO doesn't have any kind of turnout for our meetings, which are only held quarterly, anyway, we have always had trouble collecting the $2.00 per family PTO dues because of this. However, this year we sent out newsletters asking people to be a part of the PTO star board. If families send in their $2.00, their child(ren) get a star with their name on it to display on our bulletin board. In December, we are drawing one of those names to win a holiday gift basket. The response has been nice. We are already double the dues we got last year and it has only been a few days. We have just over 500 students k-5, so we could make close to $1,000, which would be great.
