No, we don't send a self addressed stamp envelope with the solicitation letter. We do as much as we can to keep our overhead down and many donations we receive as result of national soliciting are large, at least larger than an envelope.
Below is a copy of our solication letter. I have shared it many times on this site.
Dear Business Owner;
We are writing to you today in the hope of soliciting your support for the [school name aution]. Your generous support will help us bring a wide variety of educational materials into the classrooms at [school name].
Our continued mission is to raise funds for educational materials that provide teachers the resources to support their curriculum. The money we raise goes to support our many school programs including
. Last year we were able to generate [net of last auction]. We are hoping to exceed the amount and our school would greatly benefit from your support.
The annual Auction is scheduled for [date] at our school. The Basket Auction Committee will be creating a variety of baskets such as household products, toys, small appliances and gift certificates. Your business can make a donation of either product, service or monetary and it will be greatly appreciated. As we have done in the past, we will be happy to recognize your contribution in our program, on the baskets themselves and to announce your participation during the auction.
We hope you will consider contributing to this worthwhile cause. Your donation can be sent to the school in care of:
