Were giving them Valentine cards shaped like butterflys and attaching a "teacher's pencil" to each instead of the roll candy recommended. I also found some shaped like guitars which might go over better with the male teachers. The cost is less than 50 cents each.
Yes, we honor them monthly with lunch in the lounge and acknowledge the one's who have b-days for that month, but just wanted ideas of something just to acknowledge Valentine's Day!!
Any more advice?
Our PTO doesn't do anything special for the teachers on Valentines because they get so much from students. We'd rather spice up a regular day. But if your custom is to do so, that's great! Teachers deserve all the apppreciation/recognition they can get.
Our monthly Teacher Appreciation activity is usually food-related. We rotate with a different grade taking responsbility each month and organizing a lunch, dessert, breakfast, etc. We'll have one in February, but not on Valentine's day. Then we do a variety of things in May for Teacher Appreciation Week.
Just wanted to hear what everyone else had decided to give their teacher/staff for Valentine's Day! We usually try to place something in their boxes to let them know again how much we appreciate them. Please give us some new ideas!!!
